Seaspan Shipyards and many of it's more than 2800 employees gathered for a ceremonial keel laying event for the Royal Canadian Navy's future HMCS Protecteur in North Vancouver.

FRIDAY EVENING AT THE OKOTOKS OILERS HOCKEY GAME THE 2020 STAMPEDE QUEEN AND PRINCESSES CAUGHT UP TO CAL ANNIS AT HIS KIOSK FOR A PICTURE.

Bravo Zulu to all the bingo volunteers for their efforts in working a record attendance for  Monday  Dec. 23rd. at Five Star Bingo.  We were also recognized by management for being such a well organized and friendly group.  Special thanks goes out to Al Hudak and Cal Annis for all their efforts. 


NOTICE-- The Corvette Club will be closed December 28TH. See you at the Levee Jan 1, 1100 hrs.  The Moose will be loose.

CONGRATULATIONS to Bill Bethell who will be turning 88 on Tues. Dec. 17th  and is always willing to volunteer whenever called upon.  Many happy returns Bill.

           




BANFF SPRINGS 2019 ANNUAL BRUNCH

REMINDER,  THE CORVETTE CLUB WILL BE CLOSED SATURDAY DEC. 7th. 

THE BUS  FOR BANFF WILL DEPART FROM THE CLUB AT 0900 ( 9:00 am ) SHARP.


BZ to the decorating committee for the fine job they done in bringing the Christmas spirit to the Club room.

GARMISTICE DAY AT THE CNVA 2019








 CAPT. Bill was in attendance Nov. 1st. at the Heartland Retirement Home in Okotoks addressing the residents on past Military history. 

                 

Many thanks to Dee, Zoe and Rob Shirlaw for their great performance not only preparing the food in the Galley but for spending hours decorating the Club Room for our annual Halloween Spooktacular. 






                                

NAVY DAY AT THE MUSEUM








Sad to report Marie Bain passed away September 25/19.  Her son Ted will be making arrangements for a service towards the end of October. 


Pictured below is Lloyd Lomas a member of the CNVA and Christine his lady friend . Good to have them visit  all the way from Victoria and enjoy the fellowship. . .



FIELD OF CROSSES NOW OPERATING AS A CHARITY ORGANIZATION. 

Laura and Mike Vanderkruk ,members of the CNVA and also on the executive of the Veterans Association Food Bank were in attendance to explain how successful the Food Bank has been and plans for the future growth.  Thanks to all the Shipmates for making this day a big success with your generous donations.

ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL PANCAKE BREAKFAST ENJOYED BY ALL.Another large turnout for the Belcher BBQ, thanks to all the volunteers who made it happen.  Bravo Zulu to the Padre Lloyd Northcott and Bill Bethell for going above and beyond doing the cooking in the pouring rain,  assisted by an umbrella.ing

Very sad to report the passing of our President Paris Sahlen in the early morning of December 29th with his family by his side. He will be sorely missed as a long time and respected member of the CNVA and Naval community.
