Message from Jim Golbourn, Membership Coordinator

Thank you to all the members who have renewed for 2021 membership year.  We have not received sufficient membership cards from RCNA to issue 2021 cards to members who have renewed.  At this time your receipt issued at time of renewal payment is proof you are a member in good standing for this year.  Members who have not renewed by 1 March 2021 will be taken off the current 2021 membership list and will not be allowed to vote at the upcoming Annual General Meeting as per association bylaws or receive any club benefits including communication on events or newsletter.

You can renew on line by following the link in your renewal emails or by going to your profile on the web page or by mailing a cheque payable to Calgary Naval Veterans Association for the sum of $30.00.  The mailing address is found on our web page.  We hope to meet with every one at the club when provincial health restrictions allow us to gather once again. We appreciate your support and understanding in these difficult times

Message from VAFB

As we continue we want to ensure that we remain an organization of Veterans Helping Veteran. In order to do this we need the Veterans we serve and the Veterans who help us achieve our mission to have a voice. This voice comes by way of being a member of the Veterans Association Food Bank.

We currently have two levels of membership which can be applied for: Voting Members and Non-Voting Members.

Voting membership is open to serving or Veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, NATO or Commonwealth Allies, and United States Military.

Non-Voting Membership is open to family members of Serving or Veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, NATO or Commonwealth Allies, and United States Military or members of the community interested in supporting the Veterans Association Food Bank.

There is no charge for memberships.

There will tentatively be an AGM near the end of April 2021. Members will receive 30 days notice in advance once the date and location have been confirmed.

https://veteransassociationfoodbank.ca/

Note: a proof of service document will have to be uploaded to complete a voting member application.

A message from HMCS Calgary to the CNVA:

We are definitely looking forward to visiting you and the amazing city of Calgary once this pandemic is over (as well as eventually hosting you here).

On behalf of the ship’s company, I wish you and all of the members of the CNVA a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Yours Aye,

Mark O’Donohue, CD
